iSimangaliso Wetland Park
The Task
The project brief tasked us with developing a new visual identity for iSimangaliso Wetland Park, focusing on capturing the park’s dynamic ecosystems and promoting its conservation efforts. The goal was to create a cohesive and engaging brand experience that reflects the park’s natural beauty and biodiversity, attracts a broad audience, and supports sustainable tourism.
The Response
Drawing inspiration from the concept of “Vitality”, I created a visual identity that captured the life giving energy of the park’s ecosystems, focusing particularly on the dynamic interplay between water, land, and the diverse species that thrive in iSimangaliso. The key element in the logo design was the flowing movement of water, symbolizing the constant motion and energy that defines the park. I developed a minimalist yet modern logo that embodies these ideas while maintaining versatility across various media platforms, signage, and promotional materials. Additionally, I created supporting branding elements, including a nature-inspired colour palette, typography, and brand graphics that highlight the park’s unique wildlife and landscapes.
The Outcome
The new identity successfully encapsulates the vibrancy and ecological significance of iSimangaliso Wetland Park. It positions the park as both a sanctuary for diverse species and a haven for adventure-seeking, eco-conscious tourists. The cohesive branding has been applied across digital and print platforms, enhancing the park’s visibility and engaging a younger, adventure-seeking demographic while emphasizing its role in conservation efforts. The rebrand not only revitalized the park’s image but also aligned with its mission to preserve and celebrate its natural heritage.
